Jakarta, July 8, 2022 - PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (“GoTo Group” or the “Company”, IDX: GOTO), Indonesia’s largest digital ecosystem, joins hands with the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to encourage creative economy actors, including MSMEs and content creators across the country, to easily expand into the digital ecosystem.
GoTo Group participates in various strategic programs from the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, including the Economic Study and the Appreciation for Indonesian Creations program, through its food delivery service GoFood, e-payment service GoPay, as well as interactive live streaming platform GoPlay.
The Economic Study (Kajian Ekonomi) is a forum where industry players, MSME actors, tech companies, and other stakeholders discuss issues related to the national economy. Meanwhile, the Appreciation for Indonesian Creations (Apresiasi Kreasi Indonesia) focuses on creative economy development through capacity building and exhibitions for creative economy actors from various sectors, such as culinary, craft, fashion, apps, movies, and music. The appreciation program will be held in 16 cities and regencies throughout 2022.

In the sixth episode of the Economic Study, featuring Kampus Biznis GoFood in Jakarta on July 8, Indonesian Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno suggested that MSMEs and content creators collaborate with digital platforms to create more business opportunities, help revive the economy, and create jobs.
"Together with GoTo, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is currently focused on designing programs oriented toward Indonesia’s economic recovery, especially to help businesses to adapt and enter a new normal in transitioning from a pandemic to an endemic. In addition to digital technology, the GoTo ecosystem also provides consistent training and education for businesses and content creators. We appreciate GoTo’s active role as a strategic partner for the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to open up space for the people to improve the quality of creative economy products and expand to national and global markets so that the acceleration of the recovery in the tourism and creative economy sectors can be realized. We also encourage MSMEs to utilize digital opportunities through programs that are right on target and right on benefit. We hope the program can rebuild the socio-economic conditions aspect of the community comprehensively through business and employment opportunities that improve people's living standards,” said the Minister.
The sixth episode of the Economic Study was held by the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and GoTo Group through the Gojek and GoTo Financial Business Partner Academy (KAMUS), involving GoFood’s Kampus Biznis, which is a regular training platform for GoFood MSME partners on sustainable business development.
Appreciation for Indonesian Creations
GoTo, through its GoPay and GoPlay services, also actively participates as a strategic partner in the Appreciation for Indonesian Creations program in 16 cities and regencies, growing people’s purchasing power, helping business actors to enter the digital ecosystem through bazaars as well as virtual competitions and auditions, and supporting the government’s #BanggaBuatanIndonesia (Proud of Indonesian Creations) initiative.
GoPlay provides a virtual competition and audition platform for content creators, musicians, and filmmakers. With various interactive features of livestreaming, GoPlay allows music and film lovers to enjoy various forms of entertainment, including music performances and virtual screenings of the work of local musicians and filmmakers. The audience can also directly appreciate the work of audition participants through virtual gifts. Winners of competitions and auditions will have the opportunity to collaborate on monthly GoPlay content and get support for the marketing and promotion of their work nationally.
Meanwhile, GoTo Financial, through GoPay, acts as a growth partner to accommodate community demands and the needs of MSME partners for non-cash payments. In eight selected cities, GoPay will provide QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) for MSMEs as well as various attractive promotions during the Appreciation for Indonesian Creations bazaar. Through the QRIS provided by GoPay, MSME partners can reach millions of e-money users in Indonesia. Business partners can also record transactions automatically, which makes business administration easier while expanding market share.

The GoTo ecosystem contributes around 2% of Indonesia’s gross domestic product (GDP) and serves almost two-thirds of household consumption in Indonesia. The latest initiative is certainly in line with the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy’s target of opening 1.1 million jobs in the tourism and creative economy sectors throughout 2022.
